How lucrative is a web designer position?

I have made professional websites in the past, and I really enjoy it. I’m considering going into the field. But before I do, I’d like to know if I can support myself on a web designer’s salary. What is the job like, and generally what do you make?

   The pay nice salaries and have other benefits 401k etc you won start making really good luck.
